    摘要:传统的英语教学中,往往对学生学习的评价就是考试与考查,而考试或考查的分数就成了学生学习成效的惟一评价依据。这种片面性的教学评价严重阻碍了学生的全面发展和教学水平提高。在新一轮的课程改革中,我们有必要重新审视一下对初中英语课堂的评价,扭转过去单一、片面的评价方式,分析目前初中英语课堂教学评价存在的问题,给出解决对策,以期对学生的学习过程和学习成果进行科学有效评判。

    一、英语课堂教学的评价

    英语课堂教学评价是英语课程的重要的有机组成部分,是实现课程目标的重要保障。教学评价包含教学测量与教学评估两部分。它根据英语学科教学的目的及原则,对教学过程和所产生的成果进行定性和定量的测量,进而做出价值判断,并为学生的发展程度和教学的改进提供依据。简而言之,人们通过评价的手段收集相关信息,解读信息含义,并依此做出判断和决定。英语学科的教学评价包括对英语教学全过程的评价—教学目标、教材等教学资源所提供的教学内容、教学模式与方法、学生学习状况和成就,教师教学能力以及对教学质量的评价等等。英语教学的评价包括非测试性评价和测试性评价、形成性评价与终结性评价等不同的区分方式。传统的课堂教学评价关注教师的行为表现,注重教师在语言、板书、情感、教学思路、教学设计等行为表现,认为课堂教学是以“教”为主,“学”应该为“教”服务。新课程提出“教学根本目的是为了每一个学生的发展”倡导“以学论教、教为了促进学”的课堂评价模式。“以学论教”的评价模式关注的是学生做什么,说了什么,想了什么,学会什么和感受到什么等等,评价的焦点从教师的“教”转向学生的“学”,同时把教师如何促进学生学习、以及学生在课堂上学习方式、参与热情、情感体验和探究思考等行为表现作为评价课堂教学质量的主要依据。

    二、英语课堂评价方法的涵义课堂教学评价,是以教师的课堂教学为研究对象,依据一定方法和标准,对教与学过程和效果做出客观的衡

    量和价值判断的过程。课堂教学的质量是师生双方在教与学的过程中各自质量动态综合的结果。因此,课堂教学评价应包括两个基本方面内容,一是对教与学的过程进行评价,二是对教与学的效果进行评价,其中对教与学的过程评价主要是指对教师课堂教学目标的设置,教学内容的安排,教学结构的设计,教学方法选择和教学能力的体现等方面所做出的评价,而教学效果的评价主要通过教师课堂教学各项预定目标的完成情况和学生对所教内容的理解掌握水平以及学生的积极性与课堂气氛等教学方面进行考查,教学过程评价和教学效果评价虽然是构成课堂教学评价的两个方面,但它们之间是相互联系,互相补充,相互渗透,在一般情况下,这两者之间的评价,结果也应当相互统一。

    三、传统英语教学评价方法中存在的问题及原因分析

    由于各种因素的影响,我国传统的课堂评价制度过于重视学生对书本知识的掌握,过于倚重纸笔测验方法,过分强调评价的总结性功能和选拔功能,把课堂评价的功能局限于为学校管理服务、为教师管理学生服务,使课堂评价成为学校控制教师、教师控制学生的手段,对学生的学习产生了许多消极影响。从当前世界各国基础教育发展动向和我国基础教育课程改革政策取向来看,我国原有的课堂评价体系存在着许多缺陷,己经严重滞后于基础教育的改革和发展要求,甚至成为制约我国基础教育改革和发展的瓶颈,主要表现在以下几个方面。

    1、在评价理念上存在的问题

    我国的中小学课堂评价体系在很

    大程度上是因袭传统,以自身的经验为基础,对于长期沿用的一套评价活动,没有系统的理论说明,更缺乏自觉的理论指导,忽视高级智慧技能、社会技能和情感态度价值观的评价,忽视学生在真实情境中解决问题能力的培养,忽视评价对学生成长发展作用的发挥。

    2、在评价标准上存在的问题

    我国传统的课堂评价制度,最重视的是智育,即学生在学科学习方面的表现。学生情感、态度和价值观等方面的发展在很大程度上被忽视,或者只是徒有形式。而在学生的学科学习方面,课堂评价所关注的主要是学生对书本知识的掌握情况,主要评价学生在“学校情境”中用纸笔解决问题的能力,轻视甚至无视学生的真实的生活情境中解决实际问题的能力,更忽视对学生高级思维技能,如认知策略、认知技能等元认知能力和问题解决等高级技能的评价。

    3、在评价方式上存在的问题

    考试与测验是学生学业成就评价的重要内容,也是自古以来对学生进行评价的主要形式。考试与测验在教育领域长期使用的结果,使公众乃至大多数教育工作者形成了这样一种认识,即考试和测验结果可以比较清楚、直观地反映学生学习情况和教师教学情况。通过考试和测验,教师和学校能够准确地评定学生学业成就,并可以据此对学生或教师采取相应的管理措施。

    4、在评价策略上存在的问题

    传统的课程评价活动,重视对学生学习的事后评价,轻视对学生学习过程的评价,使评价应有的教育效应大大降低。对于结果的过分重视,使得学生只关注学习的结果,而教师则丧失了在

    5、在评价主体上存在的问题

    在传统课堂评价实践中,学生是教师评价的对象,只有被动接受评价的义务,没有主动参与评价的机会和权利。学生只能按照学校、教师制定的评价标准、程序和方法接受评价。课堂评价的过程,就是学生根据教师的指令被动地提供评价信息的过程,对于评价结果,学生往往只能无条件接受,毫无自主权可言。这种重教师、轻学生的课堂评价制度,因袭陈旧落后的教学传统,将学生当做被动接受知识的“容器”,当做机械训练的对象,忽视学生作为学习者的主观能动性,把学生的学习完全纳人教师预先设定的教学模式,旨在维护教师的教学权威。

    四、改变传统英语教学评价问题的方法和策略

    针对所述问题及分析,我们应该怎样进行课堂教学评价呢?

    1、建立学习小组

    按座位将前后四位同学划定为一个学习小组,选一个英语成绩较好,有责任心的同学任组长。今后在试验过程中,如需小组成员在一起活动,一般都由这四位同学共同参与,全班共成立了12个学习小组。小组学习实际上是一种合作学习的形式,初中英语教学引入小组合作学习有利于调动广大学生学习英语的积极性,有助于提高学生自主学习能力,合作参与能力和交际能力。合作学习是一种目标引导性的学习活动。在英语教学中,更多的合作学习活动贯穿于课堂教学之中。不同课型的各个教学步骤采用不同的合作学习方法。如合作学习单词、合作学习对话、合作阅读、合作完成作业等。小组合作学习体现了现代教育理念,面向全体学生,分层优化,结合英语学科及初中学生特点,可采用任务驱动组合学习法指导学生组合合作学习。任务驱动组合学习法是以学生围绕一项具体的学习任务为中心,让学生按兴趣和爱好自主进行合作学习组合。小组成员在共同的目标下开展学习活动,小组成员既分工又合作,将完成任务情况记入小组集体成绩。这种学习活动与《新课程标准》倡导的任务型教学紧密联系,根据教学内容可在课内外

    进行。

    2、学生自评

    部分学生自我意识薄弱,还不能完整地进行自我评价,但可以适时地进行自我评价的实践。例如:在教学完一课后,让学生对照自己的努力目标,即能听懂、会读、会背本课对话,比较自己达到的水平和程度,用形象标记对自己的学习过程和结果做出判断:能达到几个目标就打几颗星,在此基础上教师再进行检查,强化学生的学习意识。

    3、学生互评

    在教学中,学生互评能促使学生积极参与,在评价别人的过程中实现自我进步。例如:在组织“听听做做”游戏时,每一组选出一个代表上讲台,请台下的学生说句子,台上的学生做动作,其余的学生当评委,看谁做错了或做慢了就大声说:“sorry,sorry,youareout!”

    4、教师激励性评价

    德国教育家第斯多惠说过:教学的艺术不在于传授本领,而在于激励、唤醒和鼓舞。在英语教学中,教师要关注学生的点滴进步,运用Good!/Great!/super!/wonderful!/welldone!等进行言语激励,还可以通过画红旗、奖励自制的小星星或小红花、教师刻的英语等级章、小笑脸等小物品等进行形象化的荣誉激励,这样一来,能使学生得到充分的自我肯定和心理上的满足,因而他们就会在学习过程中表现出轻松、乐观的良好情绪。

    5、教师针对性评价

    学生参与课堂活动的情况是形成性评价的一个重要内容。班级里多才多艺的学生很多,有的能歌善舞,有的能写会画,有的热衷表演,有的擅长言辞,教师在组织教学活动的同时,应善于观察、了解学生的个性差异,挖掘每位学生的才能,引导每位学生去体验“学—学会—会学”的过程。在课堂上,我经常采用小组评价法,把学生分为若干小组,以小组为单位开展讨论,进行比赛,分组过程中我注意让内向和外向的学生相对集中,基础好的和基础差的相对集中,以便于他们在小组中发挥各自的特长,在合作中取长补短,百花齐放,同时增强他们的团队意识和竞争意识。在课堂上,当教师对学生的回答、朗读、唱歌、游戏、表演等积极评

    价的同时,学生也为自己出色的表现感到高兴,从而更加热情地投入,大胆地实践。

    6、家长评价

    在评价过程中,家长的参与十分重要,因为家长和教师一样,关注着学生的一举一动、一言一行,关注着学生的成长。家长本身就是一种教育资源,开发、利用好这一资源,是教师的职责,也是教师的教育艺术。家长的评价可着重在对学生家庭表现的评价,笔者曾采用多种方式,例如:问卷调查、访谈、书信、电话等等,特别是低年级的学生,他们做事情没有明确的目的,他们的所作所为最容易受周围环境的影响,因此更应该及时与家长联系沟通。家长的评价既是学校教育的延续,又是对学校教育效果的直接反映。

    7、英语活动课的开展

    在英语活动课中,学生应该始终处在动态之中,居于教学主体地位。每个学生都有较大的自主权,学生要最大限度地发挥自己的主观能动性,应该参与活动的设计、策划,参与活动的准备,在活动中发挥每个学生的聪明才智,学生还应积极参与活动的总结。每堂英语活动要根据学生的实际情况和特点,让学生自己“活”,自己“动”,是学生在统一组织的活动中培养自主意识,发挥主体作用,真正成为活动的主人。

    总之,初中英语课堂教学评价应该体现学生在评价中的主体地位,无论是教学还是评价都应以学生的综合语言运用能力发展为出发点。评价应有益于学生认识自我、树立自信;应有助于学生反思和调控自己的学习过程,从而促进语言能力的不断发展。教师应使学生认识到自我评价对于学习能力发展的意义,并学会自我评价的方法。在各类评价活动中,学生都应是积极的参与者和合作者。评价应是教学活动的有机组成部分,通过评价使学生学会分析自己的成绩与不足,明确努力的方向。

    Good morning, everyone,

    Today, it’s a pleasure for me to stand here and I’m very pleased to have

    such an opportunity to share some of my teaching ideas with you. First, let me

    introduce myself. My name is Guo Xinzhi, and I am working as an English teacher

    in Yong’an Middle School, Congtai District of Handan.

    My topic today is taken from Lesson 37 of Unit 5 in Student Book 4. The

    main content of this unit is “Go With Transportation”, and the topic of Lesson

    37 is “Flying Donuts”. I have decided to say the lesson from six parts:

    Part One —— Analysis of the Teaching Material

    One: Status and Function

    1. This unit tells us the improvement of traffic transportation and the

    related stories. Besides learning this, students will also learn some words,

    phrases and expressions of traffic, and so on. In Lesson 37, Danny will

    introduce a new type of transportation to us, it is imaginary.

    2. To attain “four skills” request of listening, speaking, reading and

    writing, I will have the students do some exercise about the text.

    3. Such a topic is very important in this unit. I will lead the students to

    use their imagination and encourage them to be creative. For example, helping

    them use English to describe their imaginary transportation. So I think if the

    students can learn this lesson well, it will be helpful to make them learn the

    rest of this unit.

    4. While teaching them, I will also encourage them to say something about

    what they think the future transportations will be like. In a way, from

    practising such a topic, it can be helpful to raise learning interests of

    students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken language.

    Two: Teaching Aims and Demands

    The teaching aim's basis is established according to Junior School English

    syllabus' provision.

    1. Knowledge objects

    (1) To study the new words “fuel”, “oil” and “coal”.

    (2) To learn and master the phrases “think of, on the way to …, have fun”,

    etc.

    2. Ability objects

    (1) To develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and

    writing.

    (2) To train the students’ ability of working in pairs.

    (3) To develop the students’ abilities of communication by learning the

    useful structures.

    3. Moral objects

    (1) Through different teaching methods to make students be interested in

    study.

    (2) Love to know more knowledge about transportation and dare to express

    their opinions in English.

    (3) Encourage the students to be more creative and try to make

    contributions to making new inventions in the future.

    Three: Teaching Keys and Difficult Points

    The teaching keys and difficult points’ basis is established according to

    Lesson 37 in the teaching material's position and function.

    1. Key points:

    2. Difficult points:

    Be able to talk about their imaginary future transportation in oral

    English.

    Part Two —— The Teaching Methods

    1. Communicative teaching method; 2. Audio-visual teaching method;

    3. Task-based teaching method; 4. Classified teaching method.

    As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in the

    Middle School is to cultivate students’ abilities of listening, speaking,

    reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson

    I’ll mainly use “Communicative” teaching method, “Audio-visual” teaching method

    and “Task-based” teaching method and “Classified” teaching method. That is to

    say, I’ll let the students get a better understanding of the key structures.

    I’ll give the students some tasks and arrange some kinds of activities, like

    talking, watching CAI, and reading in roles.

    In a word, I want to make the students the real masters in class while the

    teacher himself acts as director. I also hope to combine the language structures

    with the language functions and let the students receive some moral education

    while they are learning the English language.

    Part Three —— Studying ways

    1. Teach the students how to be successful language learners.

    2. Make situation and provide meaningful duty, encourage the students to

    study the text by themselves.

    Part Four —— Teaching steps

    As this lesson plays an important part in the English teaching of this

    unit, I have decided the following steps to train their ability of listening,

    speaking, reading and writing, especially reading and speaking ability.

    The entire steps are:

    Step1 Warm-up and Lead-in

    Show the students some pictures of common transportations, like car, bike,

    train and so on. Ask the students: What can you see from the picture? Is there

    another kind of transportation around us?

    Purpose of my designing: In this part, have the students say more about

    what they see or what they don’t see. In this way, they will know today’s lesson

    has something to do with their discussion.

    Step2 Presentation

    1. Learn new words in groups. The new word in this lesson are fuel, oil and

    coal. Show them pictures of these things and teach them these new words.

    Purpose of my designing: After seeing the pictures, the students will know

    what they are and they can learn them quickly and easily.

    2. Play the tape recorder. Let the students listen and imitate the text.

    Pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation. Then finish the exercises

    on the computer.

    Purpose of my designing: This step is employed to make the students get the

    general idea of the text. At the same time let the students have a chance to

    practise their listening and speaking ability.

    3. Text Learning and a Quiz

    I’ll use CAI to present the whole text. I’ll write the key points on the

    blackboard while they are watching. After watching, I’ll teach them to read the

    words and sentences on the Bb. Make sure they can read them well.

    After teaching them the whole text, including the meanings of new words,

    the use of similar expressions and so on. Get the students to try and say out

    some phrases on the screen, like I don’t think so, have fun, a new kind of, on

    the way to school, and so on.

    Purpose of my designing: To present the text by CAI is much easier for the

    students to learn and grasp the meanings. CAI can provide a real situation with

    its sound and picture and it makes the relationships between the students

    better.

    4. Key Structures and Difficult Points Learning

    First, I will divide the students into three groups and tell them to have a

    discussion about what they learn in this lesson. Then encourage them to try to

    understand the whole text, know what the difficult points are, and so on. At

    last, I will help them to master them all.

    For example, I teach the students know the differences between phrases

    think of, think about and think over. I will show them some sentences and get

    them to know the use of these phrases. Encourage them to do some exercise about

    these phrases.

    Purpose of my designing: By practising using these new words and similar

    phrases, the students will know how to use them in English and master the use of

    them better.

    5. Read and Say

    Give the students two or three minutes to prepare, and then get them read

    the text together in three groups. Tell them to read aloud.

    Then help the students say something about the future transportation or

    their imaginary transportation. Encourage them to say more.

    Purpose of my designing: By reading the text and saying such things, get

    the students to practise their reading and speaking ability again.

    Part Five —— Summarize and Homework

    Ask the students such questions:

    What have we learned from this lesson? What does Danny say about his new

    kind / type of transportation? Do you like his idea? What new phrases have we

    learned today? Do you have enough confidence to finish these exercises? Now,

    let’s try!

    Then show them some exercises and help them to finish them.

    At last, tell the students what today’s homework is. While doing this, the

    teacher can have the boys and girls have a competition to see who are

    better.
